2d animation... over 3 years ago

As a fellow animation afficionado I would like to motion that The Auteurs include one animated movie each month in their Festival line-up. They already have some on their list, but none are free to watch. 2D or 3D, anything goes.

It could help draw attention to this artistic, fantastic genre (which is not a genre as such… but let’s save that for another thread.)

How about Auteurs creating a separate focus on animation like you do with your Documentary and Classic tabs?

And then strive to have all categories represented in your monthly Festival line-up; ie. one documentary, one animated, one classic?
You have a nice selection of animation already, but it pains me that I’m unable to watch any of them.

How to buy film through the site over 3 years ago

I just bought $10 worth of credits but it seems I can’t spend them anywhere! I thought maybe having credits on my account would trigger some “buy/watch” buttons on some movie profiles, but no… I can still only watch the 12 free movies that Auteurs have picked out.

Is this the way it’s supposed to be or am I missing something in the way I navigate the site? How does a movie profile look when it’s possible to stream the movie for $5?

I’ve read the faq and the forums, but could use a clearer handling of the whole “most movies are available to everyone”-issue. What seems to be the case in Denmark at least is “NO movies are available anyone.”

Auteurs should clarify the differences in movie availability in relation to global territories.

I just bought $10 worth of credits in the hopes that it would trigger some “buy/watch” button on more movies, but alas – I’m still only allowed to watch the 12 free movies that Auteurs have picked out.

Please give cineastes in Denmark/Europe access to more of your movies – or disable the feature to buy credits for anyone living in a country where credits don’t make a difference.

Films that changed how you looked at cinema over 3 years ago

“The Last Laugh” by F.W. Murnau really amazed me. A late-ish silent movie that truly shows how some directors and actors (Emil Jannings) had mastered the medium at this point in time and could convey any impression through light and expressions. Great expressionistic settings also. Orig. title is “Der Letzte Mann” (The Last Man) but I’ve seen it referred to as “Hotel Atlantic” also.
