"recovering English major"... I know the score.

I would like to see the show but I haven't. 113 episodes is kind of intimidating. I have read the book by Miyazawa that inspired it but I have yet to see the film version of it ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089206/ ). Have you seen that one? The book is surreal and pretty good, and I've heard good things about the film.
