About Me

More than meets the eye…

Born on July 16, 1991
I am a huge cinema buff and artist. I love to watch almost anything, from Action to Spaghetti Western.
(I am related to William “Braveheart” Wallace, too.)
I have done filmmaking around high school for four years as well wrote some film reviews. My skills in both directing & cinematography have recieved lots of good reviews along with cinema historian. Not only worked on filmmaking, I have drew many anime-styled (plus Disney-styled) artworks for the past 4-5 years now, same for my photography and writing.

(Yeah-O!)

Beauty and the Beast

I've just watched this again last night (on DVD), and was surprised by the film's original main title sequence since I've originally seen a different opening version on VHS. Cocteau wrote and drew (even erased) almost everything as the film opened with its credits that I'd see. "OMG! It's Cocteau himself" My first time watching this moment. :)

I see you really liked High Tension! I'd say that it's hold on my guts was a 5/5 but I only favorited the film, and I might've only rated it a 3.5/5 or something. It was on the more forgiving rewatch that I really enjoyed it, not so much the first time. I think it's got flaws but everything that's done well is done incredibly well especially de France's performance. Just a great experience that brought me back to my morbid horror buff days.

Indeed, Mathew. It is quite the most incredible arthouse horror film from the 2000's I've seen. Pretty graphic and suspenseful, I also would agree with you on De France's performance: she was always brave but hides from Nahon, and later turns out to be the real villian (quite a twist, eh?). If you liked watching those kind of horror films, then you should check out another good extreme French horror film titled FRONTIER(S) by Xavier Gens. It's a lot more wild than HIGH TENSION.

I haven't seen Frontiers but I saw Inside and Martyrs a while ago, when they were new. After seeing High Tension I watched Aja's remake of The Hills Have Eyes, but didn't like it. With High Tension it wasn't the violence or horror that struck me so much as the extreme situation; it's hard to explain. The limits of the character being pushed, the extreme feelings. In my opinion none of those films had the performances, atmospherics, or direction that High Tension had. The music is amazing, and the ending in the road with green leaves everywhere really left an impression. I liked the beauty. The beauty in spite of the horror. I love the shots of her at the end, looking like she went through a meat grinder. The Hills Have Eyes was missing the beauty and emotion.

Ah. I haven't watched ether INSIDE or THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake yet. All that is sure true when it comes to watching those kinds of horror films by what you've said, mate.

I am doing just fine as usual, and you're welcome. (Still long live the narrative avant-garde cinema!) A lot of film watching and drawing art these days... just got back into YU-GI-OH! since I haven't played that in 9 years now (also got a buddy who's into YU-GI-OH! as much as I was into) but currently getting into a little new anime I need to check out. There were a lot of interesting cards I admired at that time and I did enjoyed playing duels with my brothers on that a lot, yet it feels like yesterday. I haven't have DIGIMON in a long time as well, but loved the original series as well.

the digimon movie was great because the first part had a cyber bug evil vilan that was eating internet information that was pretty far out, I don't remember digi-mon as much and probably remember Pokemon the most Yu Gi Oh was a close second I cant remember alot of the monsters though Pokemon I remember everybody.

Then, I should check out the DIGIMON movie myself. I have so much profoundness in POKEMON it's a long history since it's been in my life for over 15 years now. Very cool you know a lot of the characters in the series, btw. :)
