If Canadian Netflix didn't suck so hard, I could probably cut my watchlist in two.
If the main idea behind film school is to produce groundbreaking filmmakers for modern times, why do they spend all their time teaching filmmakers from the 1940's? Anyone who says that movies today aren't as good as they used to be needs to watch a foriegn film or two and move outside their comfort zone. This medium is still full of amazing new ideas, and the limitations on adult content and budget aren't as strenuous as they used to be. Obviously it's important to know where we came from as some films are truly timeless, but we should be looking forward more than we should be looking back.
