About Me

Film is another medium on telling stories and a good story leaves an impact (whether emotionally or mentally). People tend to think I’m hard to please and should accept it to what it is. There are lists of films out there; if it has been done better before, then I expect for it to bring something new or at least seem fresh. There are very few filmmakers that really stand-out in this generation, and a lot of memorable past filmmakers I love and adore. Here are the following personal favourite filmmakers (past and present);

(Note: In alphabetical order)

Paul Thomas Anderson – Darren Aronofsky – Kathryn Bigelow – Neill Blomkamp – Danny Boyle – James Cameron – Joel & Ethan Coen – David Cronenberg – Clint Eastwood – David Fincher – Paul Greengrass – Alfred Hitchcock – Alejandro González Iñárritu – Stanley Kubrick – Terrence Malick – Michael Mann – Christopher Nolan – Jason Reitman – Martin Scorsese – Ridley Scott – Steven Spielberg – Quentin Tarantino – Edgar Wright

Haywire

Steven Soderbergh's first action movie is built all around on martial arts fighter Gina Carano, and she certainly has an incredible talent on being equipped with some visceral fighting techniques. The story is conventional action/revenge storyline and rings a bit too closely to being Bourne. The cast is spectacular but there's no investment in them since we don't know much about them.

Hey you! I'm fine, how'bout yourself? The last great movies I've seen recently are Carnage and Romance & Cigarettes. They're both funny, entertaining and have some good performances. What about you ? I see you made it to Canada, so how do you like living there ?

Yea definitely, I was very surprised when Hooper won, I was almost sure that David was gonna win. I think TSN is better than TKS too! I rooted for Roger Deakins as well but then again I'm glad it went to Inception.

Star Trek

This is probably now my favourite Star Trek film. Unlike the Star Wars prequels; this had good story, cast and dialogue that doesn’t make you cringe.

The cast of Star Trek looks great, but Chris…  read review

Memento

It is one of Christopher Nolan’s best films. A thriller with a character whose not your type of character for thrillers. He has short-term memory loss, so the only way to remember is take polaroid…  read review
