lol
I'm so glad I held of on watching this one on my computer... the only way to watch it is projected. If you ever get the opportunity to see it on the big screen do it. There is no possible way to replecate viewing this film in any other way.
There are many suprinsingly gorgeous shots in this film... mix that with some camp elements and you got something very special here. A gem.
I'd like to think that this is more of a Gunther von Fritsch film rather than a Robert Wise film... I like to think positive.
"I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.' And he replied, 'Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way!' " ---'The Gate of the Year' Minnie Louise Haskins
Why are there two Minneli pages? Anyways I second Peter's request!
Captures the banal evey day life with such radiant beauty and steady meditation.
One of the worst films I've ever seen.
I second Elric!
Where is "MacBeth" and "The Strangers"?
Jordi I agree with you.
Amlethus, the picture is correct. It is a scene from the beginning of the film in the Train sequence. Anyways it's a terific film!
Note to self: I need to se more Sirk.
The most important film I have ever seen. An unappreciated masterpiece that deserves to be recognized amongst one of the finest examples of what variety cinema has to offer.
A extremely low budget film that works just as good as a multi- million dollar action film. Rodriguez may not be in the league of great directors but he sure is an inspirational one to beginning filmmakers.
One of Jodorowsky's greatest Straight forward story telling considering his other films but just as amazing as anything he's ever done I really hope for a U.S. release of this film
