Rather accurate portrait of what London has become, a city of greedy, humourless dullards.
this movie forever changed my relationship with scarf-wearing. chabrol always has a lasting effect on me even in small ways.
wow i think the trailer above has as many cuts as the 144-minute movie, if not more.
i say this film is as much about the nature of storytelling than about sexuality, which puts a more rigorous theoretical spin. think of Jerome's novelist friend Aurora who incites him to think of himself as a fictional character in one of her stories. it poses a slyly and playfully self-reflexive question of "what turns a string of events into a story (film)?"
kidzzoo re-tahn!
