They only knew each other once they cut the bullshit and just started saying what they feel. They finally got tired of the diplomacy and subterfuge and only arrived at a solution when they where honest. I like it.
One of my most favorite movies ever now. Best History lesson ever. Using plays as political and cultural sabotage? Who knew. Can't understand the hate people are throwing on it. Cannot understand it at all. Excellent story for modern times as is usual with timeless stories.
I need to make a list of films that make you want to be alive. This will be on it. end of report.
a most perfect twisted love story
excellent
I can see me now in ten years, remembering that this is the film that started my opium addiction
"This need to spit the worlds sinister truth in its face, is as old as the world itself..One can't resent ones era without being swiftly punished by it...you dream of setting fire to god knows what, of rising above your times like a dazzling cloud, leaving everyone terrified and admiring. But you weren't born for that..you don't even believe it yourself"
Excellent chamber piece. Reminds me of how much can be done with so little

entertaining and innovative optical effects, but the more you think about it the more the plot holes...erm...spread
I take that back. the Ideas presented in this film where awesome. We will eventually make that drug. and it will be sold at pharmacies everywhere
Lavish visuals but unconvincing character obsession (on jean-baptise lully's part)
Campy, corny and cheesy. If you can get over that, its entertaining enough.
The annoying thing about this film is to realize that what I've just watched must have made sense in Julia Leigh's head. The failure of this film is that Leigh failed to make this make sense to anyone other than herself. Beautiful nonsense.
God this could've been so much better.
Great work as an adaptation, but that's easy really for Fincher since the mood falls right in step with his usual dark style. The end was still clumsy. FIncher tied up some story elements that tarnished the original but I'm not sure why this one still had to end like a television show. it just went to credits with no determination. that was weird
Jean-Yves Escoffier is now one of my favorite cinematographers; and I now need to watch everything Leos Carax
a great American film
Would've definitely been better if he wasn"t real.
This is amazing
bebop brained madness. I loved the photography and the story arc
Pay special notice to Bruce Willis' hair. It's amazing
almost perfect. god damn you vince vaughn
this was nasty. a proper 3D adventure
a serious topic of concern done too campily. too much plastic not enough meat. entertaining nonetheless. better than Aeon Flux or Surrogates.. ungh,,,,surrogates
extremely entertaining
if this had been based on a video game, then this would have been excusable
I don't exactly know why I don't like this more; it must have something to do with the default to black comedy, after such a great start and with such momentum, only to turn into Burn After Reading. Dissapointing
flawed but I really enjoyed it
well, that was cute
I thought Soderburgh was going to become a painter and give up film making? Something about "I'm only interested in the form of cinema, I'm not a storyteller"
Newton Thomas Siegel and Cliff Martinez did their jobs well. not so sure about NWR though...
went from "mediocre" to "quite decent" with that despondent ending
