About Me

Im a 27 year old ex-animation student living in Melbourne / Australia with his Greek father and Cypriot mother.
shortly after my course I quit animation to perrsuit a career in architecure. (but my love of films has never changed)

Im not a fan of liking a particular film genre, I enjoy them all, but i have to say the genre’s I know the most about are 2d & 3d animations, anime, horror films (of any language)
these days im liking films made from the 50’s till the 70’s but im still learning. to many movies, not enough time.

also if anyone knows of any good greek films please let me know, i feel bad that im a greek with no knowledge of greek cinema :(
thank you

We Need to Talk About Kevin

This is defiantly a film to watch for it's cinematography/art direction, plot seems a bit to surreal to actually mimic an actual child growing up. but I guess that element adds to the film's style.

I've watched "Les Yeux Sans Visage". Great film! At first I thought it was kind of slow, but I loved the ending and the surgery scenes, they looked incredibly convincing.

Hey! How could you?! Unlike you, right now, I feel like a film addict. I've recently discovered some great "auteurs" and I think that just made my love for movies bigger and bigger... but anyway I'll have to take a break and play the "bad film lover" too... to study. Times are hard for dreamers.

dreaming is fun tho. but i find that dreaming to much kinda equals to not getting anything important done. oh and thats great your more into it. watched two french films last night and really wanna get back into movie watching, got a new argento film to watch and never let me go. gonna try my best to watch it this tuesday :) got any must watch films for me? :)

If you feel like watching more french movies you should definitely try "Pierrot le fou", maybe "Bande à part". These are my favorite Godard movies. Or watch something by David Cronenberg if you haven't already... "Videodrome", "Crash" or even "eXistenZ", it's surprisingly good ;)

I haven't seen "Babel" but I think you might be confusing http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375679/ with http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115964/ and they're, well, quite different, hahaha. The "Crash" I'm talking about has James Spader (from Secretary) on it.

hahaha i didnt even know cronenberg made a movie called crash. nah im talking about the other film. saw it a few years ago. i meant the strucutre of the film how it jumps to random people but at the end they are all connected, its pretty much babel but not as good. oh and ive been meaning to see the secretary. heard good things. ps watch that french film i told ya, you wont regret it :)

Hey man. I'm not a big expert on Greek cinema but I highly recommend Balamos by Stavros Tornes, Sweet Bunch by Nikos Nikolaidis and O drakos by Nikos Koundouros. You might also like to check out this user's lists http://mubi.com/lists/3270

I've already seen Antichrist and really liked it, in its own way, it's a beautiful film... I'm planning on re-watching it one of these days. And I must say: I don't think, at all, Antichrist is a misogynist movie!
