Once Upon a Time in Anatolia

Their is an unshakable likability to this film. The story could have easily bored but dark whit, incredible acting and a beautiful countryside all combine to make something truly beautiful.

The moments on the island do not cover the things you've mentioned as well or as accurate as it could have. It feels way too overwrought, tragic, and depressing for its own good. I do not see the film that's definitive of childhood because of these main points, I feel that it is a projection of childhood from retrospection of a bunch of overdramatic hipsters who don't seem to have a strong connection to their inner kid. Film doesn't work for me! I do not know what else to say.
