A cinephile is someone that obsessively collects and catalogues his film watching experiences.
All collectors are essentialy hoarders of little dead things and a cinephile is no exception.
By his nature a cinephile is an outcast because society generally looks down upon those that cannot suppress the urge to search for hidden treasure in other people’s refuse.
I understand your point of view, but you might take some of those remarks about your comments too personal. There will always be split opinions on the selected films, and attacking any of those films you dislike bears the risk that an admirer of the film might critizise your comment. You still have the chance to keep your statements neutral, but if you want to take the risk shouldn´t you feel offended if there will be a reaction, and thus either argue on the issue or simply ignore the comment, but not turn it into something personal. I think that it would be a waste of time to attack each other while the competition offers us the chance to discover and discuss unknown masterpieces of world cinema each of us obviously relates different to. That being said do I still appreciate your contribution and hope that you´re going to participate in the next rounds.
