2 things: 1) thanks for the Boardwalk Empire recommendation I'm finally caught up it's amazing. There was a wonderful old school shot of Buschemi breaking Margaret's mirror and in turn her elevated self-image in episode 11. 2) I cannot get Calendar Girl out of my head.

Please let me know your feelings on these modern directors: Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) Spike Jonze Darren Aronofsky (especially The Fountain) Jason Reitman Charlie Kaufman (well... his writing + Synecdoche) Also these specific films: A Single man Precious Milk Big Fan The Diving Bell and the Butterfly I know you're extremely thorough so feel free to only rant about the few that you feel most passionate about I guess... I think I own everything mentioned here so if you have any interest in any of these you can borrow them.
