I'm glad somebody else noticed how horrible the sound for this movie was. I thought I was going deaf watching this. This fault aside, I enjoyed the movie. If MUBI would let me, I'd give it 3.5 stars.Favorite Films

i agree with you on the ending to The Vanishing, even the flickering of the lighter went on a little too long i thought. So the whole newspaper thing was definitely overkill. I liked the film overall though :)

I still want to see El Topo after watching it. There are some really neat parts and the sets are great. Maybe I should've given it 3 stars. After like 30 or 40 minutes though, I lost track of what the point was. It's funny and there's a good scene where a traveling circus reenacts the conquest of the Aztecs using lizards and toads and buckets of blood and firecrackers.
