Hi Lena... yeah, I've not being doing much on the site since they changed the set up on Criterion. As for Wings... such a beautiful film, at every level. Curiously I have acquired the follow up but can't yet bring myself to watch it as it is sure to let me down? one of these days. Now you're out of hibernation I'm happy to exchange thoughts on decent films. best film I've seen in a while would be 'The Hedgehog' a French film about a suicidal 12 yr old girl suffering an existential crisis! trust the frogs... but they do it so well. have you seen it? and welcome back. MR
Brisvegas? good town, I prefer it to the hollow portals of the capital. I'm lazy too, but I tend to have the thoughts about a film I love spill out pretty easily, so I don't labour over the writing (for better or worse) and it teases out of me what I actually feel about certain films. It's like a kind of therapy I guess? :) now if I could just work out what I'm suffering from?! and brevity is to be applauded... one thing I know is I am excessively verbose. (see).
I loved this film, the first of Akin’s I have seen. But now I will find and see the rest and look forward to his next.

so clever, so funny and then I read the book ‘The Orchid Thief’ and saw how much MORE clever it was to have realized that concept. brilliant. am I gushing?
