I wish I was born in in 1940 so that I could be this age in New York City or France in the mid 1960’s. I would walk by The Factory reading Frank O’Hara on my way to see the latest Godard on the silver screen. It would be the life… but for now I am 23 and living in Richmond Virginia.
I know, I so wish I could've been around back then to experience it all first hand. More than anything I wish I could've had a role in filming any of the New Wave movies...that's why I envy someone like Jean-Pierre Léaud so much, he got to take part in so many Godard and Truffaut films along with other new wave folks. I still have a dream of one day setting up my own Factory, a giant place where myself along with other filmmakers, musicians, photographers, and artists can just hole up together, be free from everything else and create art 24/7. One of these days it will happen...
