Monte Hellman imagines the kind of film a recent film school graduate who loves Mulholland Drive and Vertigo would make. Why? I have no idea. It looks really good and Shannyn Sossamon is very beautiful.

somewhere? more like nowhere (which is where the movie goes). not entirely pointless but pretty close to it. the most thoroughly "meh" movie I've seen in some time.

The tone of the film and the quality of the scenes and performances are consistently uneven. The good parts are really good. The not so good parts are not that bad. Amy Adams was robbed. Christian Bale got what he deserved. 7/10

One man's epic quest to suck his sister's nipple. Original, inventive, unique style in service of ??? sadism? exploitation? druggie philosomaphizing? A lot of time is wasted here on unworthy protagonists, a lot of flying through walls, and tons of gratuitous sex. I think Gaspar Noe is a bold, creative filmmaker (visionary? perhaps?). I also think he's a sicko pervert and a misogynist.

hmm . . . I just saw this film and was disappointed. Yep, I would have to say it's overrated. I think that people give this film too much credit and project onto it a lot that isn't there. And it's just not funny, at all. I thought it a rather pointless exercise. Really underwhelming. I think Sam Peckinpah's "Cross Of Iron" succeeds at what Altman attempts to do and fails. And Kubrick's war films of course.

I think it would have been much better as a short film. The opening and the last third of the film are great. The rest seems like filler.

You know how they say "the city is like another character in the film" ? Not in this thing. This movie is a lie. Scarlett Johansson's short that didn't make the cut is better that everything in the movie.

This is THE CRAZIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN! It's like a madman's insanity projectile vomited onto a screen.

I would love to see Criterion release "Kundun" on blu-ray.

I actually Love "Marie Antoinette". It's my favorite of her films. Also, I want to marry Sofia Coppola.
