About Me

Ana Corrie is an experienced and energetic film director and screenwriter who brings her heart and soul to her craft. She thrives on creating innovative films with strong storytelling foundations reflecting her innate understanding of human life experience. She is a risk taker who has met the challenges of the film industry by finding funds, persevering with projects that may or may not come to fruition, and always preserving her creative integrity. She continuously seeks out top talent in the industry for her own training and professional development. Those who work with her say they value her strong technical abilities and know how, her calm demeanor, and her professionalism.

Ana directed, produced, and edited 17 short films and participated in the development of 2 feature scripts, including a reality show and several documentaries. Her short film SEVEN was sold to the Norwegian Film Institute and has been shown many times as a mini-feature in the cinemas in Norway. In addition, her graduation film Isaac & Ellen won the “best student film” prize at the Sehsucte International Film Festival in Potsdam, Germany. In 2009, Ana was commissioned by American Image West to direct a 20-minute short film, Julian’s Garden, with a £10,000 budget and shot with a RED Camera. Her portfolio also includes a very moving, personal experimental short film, El Trazo Grueso – Modern Art in Venezuela.

Ana holds a National Diploma in Audio Visual Production and a B.A. (Hons) in Film and Animation from the Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Earlier she played and studied music, specializing in piano and keyboard. In addition, Ana has received advanced training in screenwriting at Truby Writer’s Studio and acting training on the Meisner Technique at the Actor’s Temple in London. She has also completed “The Master Course in High-End Blocking and Staging” and “Visual Effects for Directors” courses with Per Holmes at Hollywood Camera Work.
