my local library the Flushing Library of the Queens New York Branch has been my source of Criterion Collection and other rare foreign films for the past 3 years. It’s the bestest!
Best film school is being on an actual film shoot, not just one actually. Try to get on as many film shoots as you can. Start as a Production Assistant, make conversations with various crew members and then find out from there where you want to go in a film career. I felt like I should’ve done that four years ago.
It makes sense, you liked the acting but not the film’s execution. I remember watching it at the Tribeca Film Fest a few years back and I had the same reaction.
I really want Hong Kong films to return to its former glory days where they shot 300 films a year. What happened to the Chow Yun-Fat romantic comedies, the Tony Leung gangsters, the Jet li epic fights and the Anita Mui musicals (sorta)? Johnnie To, Pang Ho-Cheung, Wilson Yip and Soi Cheang seem to be the only directors that can represent the finest of HK cinema now. We need more!
Hello all, I’m back and wanted to share these two with y’all. I wish I could do a better DOBW, but this will do for now. Hopefully it’ll inspire someone else to make a better one.

Was just thinking about doing the thin red line myself. I’m really digging the one with just the black background and the lone red line.
