Maybe my four stars are excessive for what it offers. But the lovely Reese Witherspoong gives one of his most charming performances and it's a delight to see her just smiling. The film is not that good but it is of interest, it is an unpdate of the masterpiece "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" but with quirky characters and the color pink as symbol of difference (the plot has some political undertone even if it's inside a harmless "chick flick"). I like a lot his feminist approach to law, but it's a fantasy (not unlike "Ella Enchanted" which I like too). It must be said it doesn`t reach the heights of Farrellys (in political resonance and wit) or McG (in style). An even better film with Reese Witherspoon is "Just Like Heaven", marvellous mainstream filmmaking.
