The first time i watched it i lost interest after the first ten minutes. I turned it off and sent it back and then i couldn’t stop thinking about it so i rented it again and loved it but had to watch it in segments to take it all in. I think if i movie is truly great it should be somewhat unpleasant. It needs to be raw and cause the viewer to be bored, irritated or even queasy. I would say it is flawless and i can only say that about a few films.
Weekend
Pierrot Le Fou
8 1/2
Fanny and Alexander
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Spirit of the Beehive
Science of Sleep

The Tin Drum is probably one of the most amazing films ever made. It was also the most visually disturbing, for me personally. It is the only movie that i could absolutely never watch again.
Well i guess it depends on why you watch a movie. I think the point is to create a feeling for other people from what your feeling or trying to say. Sometimes that message or feeling is unpleasant or disturbing. Usually film is imitating life and life is even more disturbing. Some of the most memorable scenes in movies are usually tragic or really intense. If you can make people forget they are watching something staged and feel something that real like the feelings you restated above then yes i think that, that makes it a “truly great movie.” Not to say that other pleasant emotions can’t. This is not a theory. This is an opinion.
Alice in wonderland
The Wizard
Daydreamer
Jurassic Park
Indiana Jones
E.T.
Total Recall
Wizard of Oz
The Lion King
The Fugitive
Star Wars
Im pretty sure most of these are still my favorite movies. 90’s movie magic there is nothing like it.

Caligula by Albert Camus is bar far the best thing i have ever read.
Franny and Zooey, In defense of women, The misunderstanding, Nine stories, Invisible Monsters, The bell jar, Daddy long legs, The sun also rises, the wayward bus and Seymour an introduction.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by far the best comedy ever made.
Annie Hall
Sleeper
Science of Sleep
Morgan
High Fidelity
Buster Keaton
Charlie Chaplin
Laurel And Hardy
Reno 911:Miami
His character and dialogue in Easy Rider was by far his best, but was cut too short. Five Easy Pieces and The shining are a tie. Cuckoo’s Nest is the most enjoyable to watch of them all though i think, he’s so lovable in it.

Mulholland Drive I’ve never got so much shit for hating this movie. Also the Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Eyes Wide Shut, Lord of the Rings, Pulp Fiction and Donnie Darko.
Goodfellas and Casino take the cake for soundtracks. Also Kill Bill 2, Easy Rider, High Fidelity, Beware of a Holy Whore and the score to Lone Wolf and Cub.
