Quentin Tarantino and Tim Burton – great ideas, yes, turned into pretty bad movies. way too much praised.
Those are the first names that came to my mind.
Oh, and Antonioni! I can’t stand his movies, honestly :( even if the cinematography is stunning.
a totally disappointing cliché. even johnny depp got on my nerves.
alice in one on my favourite books. it was a great cast. great design ideas. how did burton ruined this?!
exquisite. the story was simple, really, but so capable of haunting you.
the alienation, the characters in search of a connection and, almost funny, so synchronized in their loneliness…
it was tender even in its sadness.
this is necessary:
you fixed yourself, you said, “well never mind, we are ugly but we have the music” — chelsea hotel n.2, leonard cohen
nobody has to guess that baby can’t be blessed
till she sees finally that she’s like all the rest
with her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls. — just like a woman, bob dylan
did you hear the news about edward?
on the back of his head he had another face
was it a woman’s face or a young girl?
they said to remove it would kill him
so poor edward was doomed
the face could laugh and cry
it was his devil twin
and at night she spoke to him
things heard only in hell
but they were impossible to separate
chained together for life
finally the bell tolled his doom
he took a suite of rooms
and hung himself and her from the balcony irons
some still believe he was freed from her
but i knew her too well
i say she drove him to suicide
and took poor edward to hell
i know i know, one song. i’m sorry.
but this is tremendously beautiful and sad.
lay you head where
my heart used to be
hold the earth above me
lay down in the green grass
remember when you loved me
come closer don’t be shy
stand beneath a rainy sky
the moon is over the rise
think of me as a train goes by
clear the thistles and brambles
whistle didn’t he ramble
now there’s a bubble of me
and its floating in thee
stand in the shade of me
things are now made of me
the weather vane will say
it smells like rain today
god took the stars and he
tossed ‘em can’t tell
the birds from the blossoms
you’ll never be free of me
he’ll make a tree from me
don’t say good bye to me
describe the sky to me
and if the sky falls mark
my words – we’ll catch mocking birds
lay your head where
my heart used to be
hold the earth above me
lay down in the green grass
remember when you loved me.
