That's a relief.... I am worried too, that the quintessentially modern American filmmaker is just going to transplant that sensibility to the period setting, which might seem incongruous, like it did with Last of the Mohicans. That said, I don't hate any of his movies (Last of the Mohicans comes close) and think quite a few are brilliant. Thanks for the reassurance, Matthias
Patrick, I obtained a copy of Mann's shooting script for Public Enemies and it's pretty good; has good cinematic potential. (It all depends upon how Mann's visual style fits with the locations and period). I doubt it's going to suffer the same unfortunate fate as The Keep, so you can get your hopes up. Matthias Galvin
