I'm sure I think I may have posted a list of some of my favorites in the WATCHMEN thread, but at the moment I'm a big fan of Eric Powell's THE GOON, Robert Kirkman's THE WALKING DEAD, Garth Ennis' THE BOYS, anything HELLBOY, Warren Ellis' DOKTOR SLEEPLESS, and the Neil Gaiman-penned #686 of Batman is off to a promising start!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did check out GEORGE WASHINGTON a month or two ago and didn't completely dig it. He certainly has a refined sense of visual composition and ambience, but I found myself unengaged and thought the story was bit.. I don't know, scattered? It became less interesting when George Washington started becoming a superhero or whatnot. But I don't know, I may have to check it out again and see if my opinion changes.
