You're welcome, Michael. It's a great list. Actually, I'm a little surprised that I didn't notice it earlier. I recently came across it when I visited the page for 'Storm Center' after including the film on my list for the 1956 poll. A very undervalued film, I think. I hope you check it out if you haven't already.

i think marked woman was considered one of those b movies back in the day and it kind of has that feel. it's not an "a" movie to me (what the hell really is an "a" or "b" movie anyway) but i still really loved it and i think you would like it too. i like her and bogie's chemistry -- they're both tough and it's interesting to see that kind of dynamic back in the day. aha, right, i knew about warner brothers not thinking that she was attractive and she said that it used to really bother her that she wasn't a MGM star especially since they were considered for their beauty and glamor and warner brothers wasn't. poor her, she was also stuck on being a couch and actors practicing their kisses on her. like i said before, i've always admired her because she was the first actress (or anyone in that industry) to go against the contracts and the suspensions and the studio heads and even though de havilland won her fight, she was the one who started! i've heard of it, yes! i've done a lot of my own research into her personal life and the behind-the-scenes of a lot of movies but it sounds like an interesting read. have you seen "stardust: a bette davis story" -- it's great and i really enjoyed it and i think has clips of bette herself explaining her life and whatnot --- about "of human bondage", it's my favorite book so i tend to avoid film adaptions of my favorite books but i did look up the scene of her as mildred yelling at phillip at how no one actually liked him and how she secretly sneered at him and when i saw that, i was like; "THAT'S THE MILDRED I READ IN THE BOOK" -- i love how she completely got that character. but i'll probably not care for the movie. my friend (who also read the book) told me it focuses on mildred and phillip and if you've ever read the novel, it's not about them at all. so i'll watch it eventually but i'm honestly not looking forward to it in regards to the entire experience of seeing how they adapted the story but i'll probably love bette davis' performance.

my favorites are now, voyager and "all about eve" but i've always been really impressed with her performance in "marked woman". i heard that she wasn't convinced she looked beaten up so she left the studio and returned looking completely beaten up and everybody was concerned. i wouldn't put it past bette to hurt herself for a good performance! but i'm a huge fan of bette just because of her principles and aspirations in the industry she was in. i mean, i knew olivia de havilland won her cause but it was a fight that she started and just -- so incredible. her and what lucille ball are the kind of women i'd want to be in that industry. i haven't seen as many bette davis movies as i would like. are you completely done with her filmography? if so, i envy you! and oh, i'm bushra, pleasure to meet you! :]
