Yes I do, it is my personal favorite from Spielberg right in front of "Saving Private Ryan". To me, it had a certain energy to it that is missing from a lot of his films. It gripped me from the very beginning. I also thought the script was excellent and flowed superbly...before I knew it, it was over, even though it was more than 2 hours long. I loved how it delved into Eric Bana's paranoia as well. It just seemed to touch on a lot of stuff and the actual hostage situation it depicted was just spellbinding, sad, and pretty much took my breath away. It was a big surprise because honestly, I'm not much of a Spielberg fan at all.
Well, let me just say that it's one of my personal favorites, although it's definently not for everyone. But if you liked Stalker, let me just say that it's Tarkovsky on vicodin. You should give it a watch some time, but maybe first watch some of Bela Tarr's other films first. Watch Damnation and The Prefab People. They're shorter and easier to swallow. Then watch Werckmeister. Then, if you like it, watch Satantango. I can't reccomend it though since I haven't seen it. It's, like, nine hours long. Anyway, let me know what you think of Werckmeister if you ever see it. : )
Hello! I was just on the "Films You're Too Scared Too Watch" thread and saw that you won't watch Werckmeister Harmonies. Why not?

Although I haven’t seen a lot of Kurosawa’s films, I am going to go out on a limb and say this was the most epic. My favorite part about Kurosawa’s directing is the way he shots his battle scenes… read review
This movie was really phenomenal. Out of all the movies I have ever seen I think I believe that Sam Lowry is my favorite protagonist of all time. Never have I watched a movie where a romance was so… read review
I just watched this movie for like the 500th time last evening, and each and every time I sit there completely stuck in my seat with my eyes glued to the screen. This movie if phenomenal, and whomever… read review
