Suspiria

this movie sucks. and by suck i mean possibly the worst hour and a half wasted in my entire life.

Suspiria

inventive, humorous, and original. i beautiful blend of comic books, video games and film.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Kids

Kids

Hopefully not Shia LaBeouf's only great performance

Young Guns

Classic 80's action.

Inception

Nolan is quickly becoming one of the greatest director's of his time. Do not doubt the naysayers who find major holes throughout most of the plot, but the themes Nolan presents are not only entrancing but brilliantly confusing all the same. People can hate all they want, but Nolan definitely did it again.

Public Enemies

It was pretty good. Not awesome. But pretty good. Marion Cotillard rules.

Avatar

An old story arc done a different way, this movie pleased from beginning to end, even if the term movie is applicable to the wonderful experience of James Cameron's Avatar.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Wes Anderson just won the oscar for best animated film of the year. thats how i feel about this movie

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Not Tarantino's, best but a good film to boot. People have got to give him credit in creating his own style. I think he just has growing to do, and its taking forever to get here.

Inglourious Basterds

District 9

This movie sucked, it was nothing like the trailer made it out to be, with a terrible lead and cheap cgi effects. Lacked story and depth.

Paris, je t'aime

Not that great of a movie, but Gus Van Sant's Vignette is defintely the best one. Beautiful stories, although some, poorly executed.

Videodrome

BEST SCI FI/PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER EVER

Videodrome

Definitely not his best, but still lots of fun and hilarity. Gotta love Terry Gilliam.

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Definitely the best Harry Potter yet. Did not like the ending though that was different of the book. Your not gonna find any type of enlightenment from this, but its just fun........and there needs to be more movies like this.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I saw this movie for the first time in high school, and I didn't realize how much of a gem it really is. The way Wes Anderson can tell a story and show the emotions of his characters is not only utterly original but groundbreaking. Officially now, one of my favs.

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

My Winnipeg

This movie sucked. I really didn't get it at all, could barely stay awake through the entire thing, and Guy Maddin's voice-over was incredibly cheesy. I'm glad it was only 70 minutes long.

I Heart Huckabees

This movie was okay. Although it had a star-studded cast and hilarious performances by nearly all of the characters, I wasn't thoroughly impressed with this movie. Although I believe this was an extremely fresh concept it could have been executed a lot better, and it seemed to lose me about half way through. Watchable, but not recommendable.

The Lives of Others

I've never seen a movie where the human condition is portrayed so well. Awesome movie, makes you believe in humanity.

The Lives of Others

The Fountain

the story and everything in this movie kinda sucks, but the cinematography is awesome. especially since they did some of the stuff using reactions of elements and stuff under a microscope. plus i have a soft spot for rachel weisz becuse she is so fantastically hot, which gives me an unfair bias to this movie. but agreed with the person who reviewed it before me, terrible.

Army of Shadows

This movie rules. Usually I would make a comment about the direction, acting etc. but in this case, words can't describe how every aspect of this movie just is perfect, on point and amazing. Definitely one of my favorite movies.

Paranoid Park

Engrossing and totally original. The feelings of isolation, confusion, and regret are resonated throughout the entire film with exquisite subtlety.

Paranoid Park

One Word: Overrated. Maybe its just me, but i'm just not into this kind of humor. Although the ration kits they gave to the air force men in the plane was pretty funny.

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

The 400 Blows

Although this is an essential element to the classical art house film cannon, I really believed that this movie was not that special. The story was interesting and provoking, the filming techniques interesting, but it was spotty, and the only real true beauty of this film is its ability to develop Antoine. I give it a 7 out of 10 if I had to.

Oldboy

A movie in which you think there is going to be awesome twists and turns and mind boggling plot revelations when in the end, there is absolutely none. The violence is awesome though. The hallway fight scene is revolutionary.

Half Nelson

The style, the acting, the story....all magnificent.

Half Nelson

This film is so good because it makes you feel the same things that the characters are feeling. When one concept is meditated upon for so long in a film, it starts to harp on you, and 8 1/2 wonderfully does this. The comedy and the drama are interwoven with magnificence and it is no wonder why I strive to be Marcello Mastroianni in this film as Guido Anselmi, smoking cigarettes and getting nothing done

Donnie Darko

Such an interesting way to tell a story. Riveting and thought provoking with an excellent performance from Jake Gyllenhaal. Cult classic that blends pop culture, black comedy, time travel, and deep religious themes all into one.
