Damiano is from Venezuela where he received his B.A. in Social Communication in the country oldest university: Central University of Venezuela. His thesis project and first short film “Reserved Prognostic” (Pronóstico Reservado) was official Selection: 22 International Festival of New Latinoamerican Cinema in 2000. He worked in Venezuela as a film and video producer, creative consultant, and camera operator where he solidified his interest in cinema. He came to United States to pursue an MFA in cinema in the School of Film of Ohio University. Under the MFA program he went back to Venezuela to shot the documentary “Long Way Home”. This documentary has been selected in several film festivals in the U.S. Among them are the Athens International Film and Video Festival (2008), The East Los Angeles International and Youth Film Festival (2009), Columbus International Film and Video Festival (2009) and Iowa City International Documentary Film Festival (2011). “Never Too Late” (2009), a short narrative film produced, directed and edited by Damiano, was also selected in the Athens International Film and Video Festival (2009) and the River Bend Film Festival (2011). Recently he produced, directed and edited the short film “The Decapitated Chicken”, base on a story with the same name by the Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga.
