About Me

Magne started his career as video art curator at Henie-Onstad Modern Art Center.
Since 1997 he has been Artistic Director of the annual film event “Ultima Film – Dans for Kamera”, which mainly took place at the Film House and was a part of Ultima – Oslo Contemporary Music Festival. Magne has also guest-curated for several international festivals and events.

In 2001-2003 he initiated and produced the two-part project Nordic Dance for Camera which resulted in the award winning series ”Moving North – 10 Short Dance Films”, one of the most comprehensive Nordic co-production projects for shortfilm to this date. Magne has also programmed, organized and lectured in a number of dance film events all over the world.

Magne is also a film maker. He has produced and directed his own films, including a documentary about Norwegian film history and short films. In addition he has been freelancing within the field of film, media and dance. He was in the advisory board for two seasons for Dansens Hus (Dance House Norway) the new national venue for dance. He has also been in the board and a member of the programme committee of CODA – Contemporary Dance Festival Oslo.

In 2007 Magne was Head of Programming for the 17th Oslo Films from the South festival (FFS), which presents films from Asia, South America and Africa. He also initiated the World Cinema Foundation event in Oslo as a part of FFS 2010. At the present Magne is working as Information Manager at CODA – Oslo International Dance Festival, which he co-established in 2002.
