I’m a freelance filmmaker born and raised in Memphis, TN, now living and working in Brooklyn, NY.
The cinema is about vision, and by extension means it’s about perception — perception of reality, of truth, of our basic interactions. My love for the cinema is birthed through this connection, which ultimately lends itself to a rendering of the human condition. I believe taking part in the viewing, studying, and crafting of cinema is a way for humans to better understand themselves and who they are in a large, complex, and beautiful coexistence.
Right now, I am finding work as a PA on larger independent film sets, while sometimes finding smaller films to work on as an AC. My ultimate goal is to continue finding work in feature filmmaking as an assistant camera or camera operator, and to develop my own work as a documentarian/videographer in the direct cinema/cinéma vérité tradition with a focus on portraiture.
