Nuit #1

I saw this tonight at GIFF 2012 with director present. She said a lot liked it but also a lot hated it. I really liked the honesty of this film. I think that a lot of one night stands ends like Clara's does, and the feelings are the same. What happens in this film is not only what should happen, but it shows what a lot of young people like themselves are coping with, but never shares with anyone. Excellent debute.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy that you liked it!! What are the other turkish films you particularly like? Did you see Kaplanoğlu's Yusuf triology?

I don't know where I wrote about the difficulties of finding art house- dvds but it's not a big task keeping such a statement. I visit Papercuts from time to time but can't afford buying anything. On the other hand some webstores works perfectly well. I'm still confused how Cdwow could keep such reasonble prices... But undoubtedly: Swedish Cinematheque take the win showing great cinema. ;-)

Oh sorry. It was just a response to the "refuse to download illegal" comment:) Thumbs up for Cinematheque indeed. Going to watch Last Life in the Universe tomorrow here in Gbg!

Aha, no problem. And "Last Life in the Universe" can't be wrong, I'd wanted to watch that for some time. By the way, why didn't the Cinematheque in Gbg show "A Brighter Summer Day" as they first announced? They did a great job getting the other "World Cinema Foundation"-movies, but for some reason they skipped the most important one.
