What you said about "Mean Streets" was interesting and I too adore Scorsese's "Life Lessons" which is why I bother saying anything at all. Robert De Niro did not climax in "Mean Streets", no it will always be his next film which is his finest. It's easy to confuse your favorite role with his best.
