Hi, my name is Dan. I like movies, writing/making films, playing video games, going to concerts, and living in Washington, D.C. All of these things I do with friends.
When it comes to my taste in films, I like what I like. No, I cannot give you one genre, style, or director that I love unconditionally. However almost every film I like, I am willing to and capable of defending its merit, whether it be the fact that “Hostel” is a metaphor for American ignorance, or the intense attention to detail put into the symbolism of “Double Indemnity.”
I love writing scripts and constantly have a few in the works at any given time. The day I realized I wanted to make films was when I saw Sam Raimi’s “The Evil Dead” in eighth grade. The simplicity and beauty in the films excessive nature made me want to learn more. In researching the history behind the film, I was even more inspired to break into filmmaking, which is probably why I mostly write horror films.
I am a cat person also.
