I would like to see Ophlus’ Letter From an Unknown Woman. I don’t believe it has a DVD release, and there are several other Ophlus films in the collection already.
Sad to hear that. What a brilliant artist-he elevated movies into works of art. I love just about everything he did, especially with P&P. Will be missed but will live on through his art.
1. The Third Man
2. Seven Samurai
3. 8 1/2
4. Tokyo Story
5. The Passion of Joan of Arc
6. The Spirit of the Beehive
7. The Red Shoes
8. Rashomon
9. The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
10. Chungking Express
I’m 16 and no one at my school particularly has an open mind about movies, specifically “old” movies, black and white movies, and foreign movies. Its very frusterating when people won’t open their mind even a little bit to explore art outside of their comfort zone or what is considered “normal”.
Great Lola, Shadow, and Game covers guys! This is the best forum on the internet! I love coming back every day to see what great new covers you guys have come up with! Keep up the fantastic work!
Weekend
Letter From an Unknown Woman
The Crowd
Sunrise
Don’t Look Now
L’atalante
The Trial
The Magnificent Ambersons
Belle de Jour
Tristana
Vivre sa Vie (though I think I heard it was coming soon)
The Night of the Hunter
Nashville
Ray’s Apu Trilogy
Rossellini’s War Trilogy
Bernard Herrmann is by far my favorite. Not only has he composed many of my favorite films, his music is simply astounding and fits the films so well! I also LOVE Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Angelo Badalamenti, Franz Waxman, and Henry Mancini.
Well, it seems to me, when new films are released, they tend to add more to the coming soon list. But that may not be the case this month. I sure hope it is though! I’m dying to see some definite release dates and getting closer to #500!!!
The Shining
Rosemary’s Baby
Repulsion
The Exorcist
Dawn of the Dead
Halloween
Peeping Tom
Suspiria
Scream
Audition
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Sisters
Carnival of Souls
Psycho
Eraserhead
Nosferatu
The Innocents
The Haunting
Kwaidan
Eyes Without a Face
Not really on a big screen, but I tend to watch AT LEAST 2 new movies (old movies) a week. I always watch at night, with no lights on and no one can bother me even if its on DVD.
I would create theories in my head, but they just didn’t work. But, I love watching it and its one of my all time favorites. This is just one of those movies that is near-impossible to figure out and maybe incomprehensible.
