define "a while"... this rivals anime action, and anything is possible there
A well done thriller, didn't need the epilogue but it didn't detract from the movie at all.
A little dry at times but it was an interesting doc about a font that's everywhere.
I was hoping it would have been more along the lines of the Inside Man but it was a little dull. Also, the prologue was pretty cheesy.
This verdict is that this film is just ok. I was expecting more of a traditional Hong Kong period beat em up action film with non stop fight scenes but got more of a dramatic action film that was in need of more action. Still, it was nice to see Donnie Yen go outside of his comfort zone before turning into the ass kicking machine we all know and love.
This would have been a great short film instead of a heavily stretched out feature. I liked the heavily desaturated cinematography but the story didn't really find its legs until the end.
A standard procedural crime thriller with a surprising comment on racism and police brutality, which sets it apart from other police films during this time. Also, I loved the hand held camera work.
Summer blockbuster season is upon us and its off to a solid start. They do indeed have a Hulk.
Reminded me of Eroll Morris' "The Fog of War", however it was a little dry a times because of the chosen focus on just the simple litigation element but still very engaging at times.
Combat soldiers in a high school civics class made for an engaging concept from the start. The classroom dynamics and the conversations had over the 3 week course give a very interesting perspective of those who have just returned from the front lines. However, I wished the film was expanded a bit more outside of the classroom to give more background on all of the characters featured.
Thought it could have used some statistics to foreground and situate the issue of drug testing and pharmaceutical drugs. Overall it came off as unfocused despite the engaging characters and beautiful cinematography.
I like hockey and I like this movie.
A micro study of a macro issue. It hit the right emotional beats choosing to focus on the victims of bullying and their turmoil but I thought it could have used a little examination of the bully's themselves.
A great well acted procedural court room drama. Despite the almost three hour runtime the film never lags.
The film left me wanting a little more in terms of why the character of Brandon is the way he is instead of just observing his situation. Still, it was beautifully shot and well acted.
Enjoyed it but it was kind of hollow.
A very clinical film, more about the nuts and bolts of the robbery, as opposed to a character piece but it worked.
Soundtrack was great, and it had some laughs. I can see this movie getting a remake.
Really funny, hopefully they don't try to make a franchise out of it.
Pretty informative but could have been a little shorter.
Solid performances and an ok story, which makes the film have more of a docudrama feel to it.
The most enjoyable aspect of this doc, for me, was seeing the more human aspects of a television personality through Conan's own annoyance/anger with the demands of the tour.
A very inspiring doc about sticking to your dream.
It was ok, would have benefitted from being a television series as we would have had more time with each director featured in the film.
Some of the best action choreography I've seen in a while.

I'd define the choreography as being hyper but rooted in a sense of realism, if that makes sense. The movements used don't need any wire work and there is an inherent brutality to them but this is just amplified because the fights go on for a long time. The closest thing to it off the top of my head would be the Donnie Yen movie Flashpoint.
Very fun
Enjoyed parts of it but couldn't help feeling like there were a lot of elements missing from the plot.
Had an interesting style to it but it was just ok.
More of an experience than a story but a really fun experience nonetheless.
Despite the conflict regarding the naming of the doc, it was a good examination of one of the best Hip Hop groups of all time. I'll be a fan of anything that is about TCQ.
Love it or hate it you'll be talking about this movie when you finish watching it.
