Thanks a lot, i'm honoured to be the first followee! I've just made my profile more impressive, ha! Great to find Ugetsu on your little list of favourites.
Hey man No problem. Happy to oblige. I haven't had a chance to go through all your lists yet but from what I've seen most are tip-top and right up my alley, so to speak. We seem to have sort of a similar taste in movies, if you know what i mean ... you know, how we value the importance of mise en scene and form etc., and how a movie is presented, how we recive it and less so the plot and more just the images and sound. That's just the impression I get, sorry if i'm wrong :) I like Tony Rayns and have for a while now ever since I became aware of his ubiquitous presence on the Masters of Cinema DVDs - you know, the Mizoguchi films and his fab erudite introductions explaing the history of Mizo and Ugetsu or Sansho. I can't find it, but he made me realise in an article for Film Comment that Kim Ki-Duk is basically just a hack as well
sorry about the grammar and formatting of my last post - it ballsed up when i clicked post. there were paragraphs in, i promise, lol. :D
