Lee Marvin’s Point Blank. Probably 8 out of 10. For anyone who has seen them: which do you prefer Point Blank of the remake with Mel Gibson Payback? I saw Payback and the directors cut of Payback a few times long before I’d even heard of Point Blank and its a cool movie and Mel’s character is awesome but I’d have to say Point Blank is a much better made movie. Plus it has a MUCH better ending. I loved the twist in Point Blank.

…..great movie. I especially loved the narration and the cinematography. In fact I ended going through and getting snapshots of some visuals I particularly liked and have been alternating them as desktop backgrounds. Quite a few amazing shots. I especially loved the long walk shot and when the main character aims his gun directly at the camera. It looks awesome and even though I knew the gun only had an empty shell in it I found myself flinching as he was slowly pulling the trigger. And I don’t really know exactly why I noticed this but another little thing I found interesting in the scene when Frank Bono is cleaning his gun. He’s working with the gun he sets the gun down sets his bottle of oil, which had fallen sideway, upright. Thats it. Then he goes back to the gun. Again, I’m not sure why this stood out to me but in thinking about it it is an interesting insight into the professionalism and precision of the character. Thoughts?

Yeah Frequency is a pretty cool movie. You don’t like Caviezel? I’ve always liked him I just wish he could get some better roles. His latest movie coming out I can’t remember the title but he’s playing a viking the comes to the future to save the world from a dragon. A sci-fi viking movie? Sounds like thats got a high potential to be extremely stupid. But on the other hand he was amazing in The Passion of the Christ. No matter how you feel about the movie itself you’d be hard pressed to deny his performance was phenomenal. To be able to go through an entire film speaking three different foreign languages (one of which is an ancient language that is barely used anymore) and still portraying the emotions is an impressive feat. But as I say, I wish he could just get some better roles to fulfill that potential instead of De Ja Vu and this sci-fi viking movie.
