Heat wave. The Fantasia Film Fest. Waiting in line in the blaring sun to see a Belgian film about the illegal cow hormone mafia. Nothing beats Montreal in the summer!

On the bright side, the Image+Nation jury prize for the best Feature film went to CONTRACORRIENTE, the so-called Brokeback Peru. Well deserved, i think.. It does thread into melodrama at times but it's successful overall. An impressive first feature. Thumbs down to the 'esti de niaiseux' who embarrassed the guest jury member from Oslo.

Of course, the film that I hated the most won the effin audience prize at Image+Nation, the Montreal LGBT Film Fest. FROM BEGINNING TO END, the 'incest love story' from Brazil, and a complete piece of crap, was voted the most popular film! (Yes I'm the one who booed when it was announced) I'm embarrassed for the Montreal gay community and I apologize to film lovers everywhere! ;-)
