Yeah this is an extremely hard question but at the moment I can think of shot that I love in the film Stalker where the three characters are sitting down after their dispute. When it starts to rain in this shot I become overwhelmed with happiness.
The Grandmother by David Lynch. Shot in 1970 in his own apartment I think. Well anyway it’s an excellent surrealist short and a must see for Lynch fans.
Mr. X: I thought I heard a stranger. We’ve got chicken tonight. Strangest damn things. They’re man made. Little damn things. Smaller than my fist. But they’re new. Hi, I’m Bill.
Mr. X: Well Henry, what do you know?
Henry Spencer: Oh, I don’t know much of anything.
If you had to pick ONE film as your favorite... over 3 years ago
I would say Werckmeister Harmonies would be my top if I had to pick one. Eraserhead, Stalker, and Satantango are up there too.
