I believe this is Kurosawa's finest film. It is one of five film that I ever went back the very next night to see again. Kurosawa is truly "painting with light" here. The agony of the shadow warrior at the dissolution of Lord Shingen's empire will be with me always. I submit that this needs to be looked at closely, with attention and with serious comrades. Truly magnificent on the big screen.
