Well, the problem is that we all have so big expectations form this film, that if it's not at least as great as Mallick's other works,I think that many people will be very disappointed.I mean,if you expect a f***ing masterpiece, even if the movie is really great, you may be disappointed.
I finally managed to see this one.A very good films, but far away from Kobayashi's masterpieces, maybe my least favorite Kobayashi so far.
Marketa Lazarova is a goddamn masterpiece.I'm really looking forward to seeing some of his other films. But I don't believe that it's the easiest films to find.Unfortunately.
I love this film.For me,it's Scorsese's best in many years.It may has flows,but it's a great and moving story.And DDL's performance is a goddamn pleasure.And,as Drew said,I also can't understand the criticism.
Oh yeah!At least they add "Amici Miei".
I'm still waiting for "Il Bidone".I've always believed that "Il Bidone" is among the greatest Fellini, and it's a pity that this movie never became so famous,as some of his other movies.
A really amazing film, that I had the unique chance to see on the big screen. The mixture of documentary and fiction works perfect,as well as the dreamy scenes of his early-life memories. The cinematography was unbelievable.Moving,as a personal story, and thought provoking,as a great, realistic view on the Cuban society after the revolution, this film is definetely a masterpiece.
"You don't understand.I coulda had class.I coulda been a contender.I could've been somebody,instead of a bum,which is what I am."
Great film, one of my favorite by Hitchcock.I found the screenplay great,it succed to keep you at the edge of the chair from the beginning until the very end.Great cinematography and direction,as in every Hitchcock film.
A really great film.Another film which shows that Bergman is one of the greatest directors ever and one of the greatest philosophers about religion. And Max von Sydow gave a flawless performance too. Bergman films have such a power.
