About Me

If I’m tl;dr, it is because every sentence I type to me is a possibility for an overwhelming number of tangents. I think it is to my credit that I can even be cogent at all.

Feature length movies made by regular Mubi forum users:

Shoreham, by RaySquirrel:

Cleaners, by Douglas Reese:

If you have a feature length film online message me with a link to either its streaming video or the first segment of streaming video. Feature length I go by IMDb definitions, which is longer than forty minutes. Regular Mubi forum user I go by feel, based on if I’ve seen you around and how many posts you have in a variety of different topics.

Scream IV=4??!?! Don't tell me you actually thought it was.clever? just a jumble of ideas with no clear focus imo. and Neve's line about the superiority of the.originals would have worked wonders in a film that actually knew what it was doing.

We seriously can't shortcut our votes in the silent film poll by only typing down plus signs?

Was just looking over STL--I'm guessing I made a grave mistake by abandoning Demonlover halfway through?

Oh god yes. If you didn't end up at the point where they end up in, like, the Mexican desert, then you missed out. Sort of like Mulholland Dr. but for logical/realist reasons, there is almost an exact point in the movie where everything goes haywire and from there plummets into horrors only cursorily alluded to earlier in the film.

Or, in short, all of the main character's desensitization and detachment from the work she is doing suddenly becomes a very real and tangible horror.

This makes a lot of sense(I can absolutely see how this would work, based off the first half), and is madly enticing. Thanks for the tidbit--I have now made it a fervent priority to rewatch. Though I will, in the meanwhile, just listen to the soundtrack once again.

Phantasmagoria is the projection on smoke, the pre-cinematic origins of moving photography in an almost 3-dimensionality. Thus, we have Lisandro Alonso’s Fantasma, which is none of those things—simply…  read review
