Okay, they're not Criterion material, but the The A-Team movie and Predators were very entertaining and well made popcorn movies.
Recently watched James Brolin in the 1970s classic, The Car. Great B movie. I highly recommend people watch this with a group of friends and with plenty of alcohol on hand. Also watched Stan the Man's Full Metal Jacket, again. Still Awesome. I am re-reading Full Metal Jacket's source material, Gustav Hasford's novel, The Short Timers. I haven't read that book in many, many years. It still holds up. The prose is tight, concise. There is no sentimentality, no emotional malarkey. One of the best novels about the Vietnam war. No wonder Stan the Man saw fit to turn this book into a movie.
Too much hype. Not enough substance. Saw it in a crowded theater late at night and wasn’t scared, wasn’t moved by the characters.
