Yes I did know! Gelin acted with James Stewart in “The man who knew too much” didn´t he?
As for the rape theme Schneider puts it best in the her Daily mail interview from 07`:
“I should have called my agent or had my lawyer come to the set because you can’t force someone to do something that isn’t in the script, but at the time, I didn’t know that. Marlon said to me: ‘Maria, don’t worry, it’s just a movie,’ but during the scene, even though what Marlon was doing wasn’t real, I was crying real tears. I felt humiliated and to be honest, I felt a little raped, both by Marlon and by Bertolucci. After the scene, Marlon didn’t console me or apologise. Thankfully, there was just one take.”
You are right, but I have to admit I love this scene : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFsFMlgLFsQ
Humphrey Bogart & Peter Lorre “The Maltese Falcon” (1941)
Robert Walker & Farley Granger “Strangers on a Train” (1951)
Dirk Bogarde & Björn Andrésen “Death in Venice” (1971)
Gérad Depardieu & Patrick Dewaere “Les Valeuses” (1974)
James Spader and Robert Downey Jr. “Less than Zero” (1987)
(or Spader-Shatner in Boston Legal & Spader with Andrew McCarthy “Pretty in Pink”? )
Hello Colin! I am not the biggest McGregor expert, but he did Shakespeare on stage in London last year was in that good film with Michelle Williams and is cruising round the world in a motorcycle. He gave a lovely Masterclass talk to a group young and hopeful actors directors and writers about his life around 6 months ago which I attended and thorouhghly enjoyed. His point was that he considered his life to have been blessed and extremely lucky, I don´t think he is a case of Sienna Miller….
Although the movie with Zellweger 60s stuff Rock Hudsonesque that was bad :-)
Which is your favourite scene in Holiday?
Mine begins when Hepburn says “I could never decide whether I wanted to be Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale or John L. Lewis”

Not really refined choices it seems, but films that stuck with me as a Gesamtkunstwerk. It was a fun try, got me thinking :-)

Oh Dear, I didn´t mean to cause a sniff. I am new to this ! And not a great “auteur” yet ! Is there no space here for “amateurs”?

Best biographical movies about 3 years ago
They showed Chaplin on German TV last night, Robert Downey Jr. actually reminded me of Lady Gaga
I personally like semi autobiographical stuff, where it´s clear where the inspiration came from; like Mephisto with Klaus Maria Brandauer…
It´s clear he portrays the actor Gustav Gründgens but he is called Henrik Höfgen in the book/movie
