I’ve never been a big fan of Criterion’s decision to put out “Armageddon” and “The Rock,” but I can see the argument for it (they are canonical examples of a certain type of film, to be sure).
Since someone mentioned Strangers on a Train I thought I’d point out that when I recently re-watched it I found myself agog at the fact that Hitchcock essentially attempts to use an entire tennis match as a method of generating nail-biting suspense. Not 100% sure it worked, for me, but it’s still a fun film.
Thought I’d solicit some opinion over here. Anyone see any favorites represented in this list? (I’m fond of both Primer and Oldboy, myself.) Any on the list that are definite ones to avoid? Any films you’d like to see included in future installments?

The Onion's "New Cult Canon" about 3 years ago
I don’t know how many of you read “The Onion,” but their series on the “New Cult Canon” is pretty interesting.
