I like to think Penn (Dead Man Walking) was robbed in ‘96 when Cage won Best Actor for Leaving Las Vegas. I don’t mind Cage’s performance, but I do not think it was worthy of beating out Penn.
Best Supporting Actor
I thought Ledger winning this year was quite overrated.
Glemaud has some fantastic taste in music! In fact everyone pretty much does.
Radiohead-In Rainbows by far the best album of 2008. Love Sigur Ros’ new one as well, same with Brendan Canning’s Something For All of Us, Dig!! Lazarus Dig!!, Oracular Spectacular, Modern Guilt, Viva La Vida and Sam Roberts Band’s, Love at the End of the World.

I personally did not think it was bad, but just let all the Fanboys and Popularity get to my head and it effects how I feel about the film. I thought it was way overhyped and just got really tired of hearing about it. Do I think Heath Ledger deserved an oscar? No, personally I thought it should’ve gone to Brolin or Phil Hoffman, and as much as I know I sound like an asshole I really believe that a major factor in Ledger winning the Oscar was that he died.
In Raging Bull, Sound effects for punches landing were made by squashing melons and tomatoes. Sound effects for camera flashes going off were sounds of gunshots.
I have a There Will Be Blood, Punch-Drunk Love, Magnolia, Boogie Nights, Pulp Fiction (even though I’m not too huge on the film), Vertigo and Godfather.
Solution to this is to buy it on ebay/internet for the price you’d pay to rent. Ratings are ridiculous I bet they’d allow you to pick up something with tons of violence over this and that’s sad.
