Works for me both as a sci-fi and a road movie. Brilliant debut with plenty of small details to love.
Surprisingly edgy and good fun to watch. Stockbrokers have never been popular it seems :-)
RIP MCA! Wherever you are, I hope you're having fun!
Essential viewing for everyone who loves cinema.
Gimme more Dardenne :-)
A pleasant surprise. Decent effort and luckily not just a straightforward comedy.
...at least it wasn't boring...
The essence of classic Hollywood.
Much better than Hunger, but still something missing for me.
I love the atmosphere of this film. None of the glamour and adventure usually associated with secret service is present here. I always love a good puzzle, too.
Wow! I should have started watching Tarr films earlier.
Probably one of the worst films I have ever seen.
Largely schematic and pretty boring at certain parts.
A really haunting movie with an excellent script.
Really funny and shows that you can make a comedy out of this topic.
Brilliant!
Too many ideas and not much focus, but still a good film.
Absolutely beautiful, but the meat is missing from it. I like films with a lot more complexity.
Occasionally funny. The filmmakers must have really hated Hollywood actors.
Beautiful and haunting
Tough story, but unremarkable film.
An equally excellent second half to the story with beautiful cinematography and perfect pacing.
It is getting better the more times I watch it.
A good performance by Vincent Cassell in this solid action flick.
An instant classic
A beautiful film, it reminded me of opera movies. Grand and sensual with the onus on reflecting feelings and at times dreamlike.
There is just about enough material for a short film in this. I almost fell asleep watching it.
I have officially given up on Aronofsky after this one. A brilliant performance from Natalie Portman, but that is just about all that is positive for me. Lost interest about halfway into the film and after that all the over the top dramatic elements just irritated me.
Not sure I understand the hype. It was a decent effort for a Hollywood movie, but nothing special. The screenplay is vintage Sorkin and enjoyed some of the visual ideas, but not quite the instant classic it is made out to be.
It surprisingly lacks any suspense, but the atmosphere is brilliant. An excellent duel between terrorist and detective. I think it could have been more tightly cut, especially in the second half, but still a must-see.
