i agree! it is one of those guilty pleasures. a b movie with a rated A cast, something to that effect :)
It's a terrifying film, but I found it almost impossible to believe that Berenger's character could be fooled by Winger's taciturn, shifty-eyed undercover lover. No offense to the fine actors.
Shockingly palatable Hollywood fare.
Charmed me in ways I did not expect. Could've been so much shittier!
The final beat leaves the taste of an unarguable "3/5" in one's mouth. But I'm giving the film four.
Favorite ever.
Watched a couple Neil Jordan movies in a row and I really liked this one, so I feel a little guilty for only giving it three stars...
Let's start at the foundation: human batteries. The idea falls apart - FALLS APART - under the slightest scrutiny.
Technically speaking it's a functional formula piece, but in hindsight I could not be less interested in returning.
Warm, charming, refreshing. Didn't end up really going anywhere, which was unfortunate. Black does fine work.
This is one of those rare occasions where I wasn't totally sure how I felt until, to my surprise, the ending just nailed me.
I'm finding that hindsight is making me appreciate him more by the day.
You always were an adroit deceiver.
If you don't own an Xbox, you aren't invited.
Interesting, yet I'm very tempted to bump it down to 3 stars. Muddled, sentimental and somewhat pretentious in its subject matter. That said - probably in my top 5 for 2011.
Bresson's artifice either speaks to you or it doesn't.
omg
Boy, the whole movie exists for that shot, doesn't it?
One of the more enjoyable Disney affairs - probably by virtue of coming from Swinging London.
Talk about a pointless studio affair.
Scary, indeed.
"Well, here I am, at the crossroads... ... ... ... ... ... OF MY LIFE!"
It would be refreshing if Aronofsky always worked with such a limited budget.
Surprisingly charming. This may be the best Sonnenfeld can do.
It's cute, and occasionally funny, and it means well, and there is at least some measurable amount of talent at work that can be watched.
I saw this after Nixon and Secret Honor and found it to be virtually unwatchable.
Anybody else finds that Leigh's moralizing reminds them of... I daresay... Tolstoy?
Newsies! This is one from youth, to be sure. Back when I could somehow actually tolerate musicals.
I frankly think this movie is awesome. Sort of has inexplicably high production values.
Paul Walker's role in this reminds of Keanu Reeves strenuously asserting, "I... am an FBI agent!"
It's an awful film but I kinda like it. Stephen Norrington likes to have fun.
