You are such a pessimist. Come on man, have faith in the perfect director for this material.
The second most powerful Japanese film I've seen (Shindo's Naked Island is my bread and butter). I'm absolutely enthralled by Kohei Oguri.
where are his films?
How can I see this?
Objection! this might suck
A near-perfect adaptation of the unrelenting masterpiece by Shusaku Endo. If Endo's novel is God than Shinoda's film is Jesus Christ. I wept tears of crimson!
Poetic imagery at its finest. Eat your heart out, Bergman ;)
The premise is much more interesting than it is outlandish. No sci-fi babble was necessary for the payoff (though it wouldn't have hurt to indulge a little...). Interpret at your own risk. Good movie.
This is actually much worse than you think.
All whom liveth amidst this good Earth and hath seen this film shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Was a little dissappointed with the narrative. The movie is called True Grit but there was very little grit in the Coen's direction.
Thy magnum opus arriveth. Long live Kobayashi.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqWgJX9tkpw cracks me up
I'm not sure how sensible Sorkin's citations are but the dramatization itself is quite the achievement. Fincher is a man of many techniques and an admirable Hollywood director--one of the best we have.
I don't quite get the appeal of this film. Creepy at times, funny and a little strange but it certainly wasn't striking, surreal, beautiful, sexy, symbolic, remarkable or expressive...underwhelming is more like it.
Andhika, thank God for your wit. Without it all would be lost
Consider this film the first in a barrage of progressive masterpieces by the legendary Masaki Kobayshi
I really hate rating films like this. I dont feel a 4/5 matches how I feel about it but a 3/5 would put it at the level of Meet Joe Black and I cant justify that. It was hard for me to get through this but the most rewarding sensation I found was the sounds in and around the silence of the film. Bartas has a very interesting philosophy to film making I might add.
The amount of visual, cinematic depth in this film is astonishing at times but a serious lack of development in its narrative and an only semi-interesting story kept me from really liking this one.
this piece of shit had so much potential. It's currently in my bottom 5
There were 62 head shots in this film...Will someone please help Romero return from the dead?
where are all his films?!!!
Devastating, left me in tears. Observational film making has never been so engaging!
they all look the same :P very funny
why the hell is New Police Story here and not Armour of God, Wheels on Meals or any of his 70s 80s and 90s films
Nearly every scare in The Crazies is telegraphed, whether by suddenly too-tight photography or shrieky crescendos of sound. The amount of times they reused the same gag (slow camera pan to the right: crazy person is revealed. cut to close-up of protagonist slow camera pan back to the left: crazy person is gone) is really incredible. I found myself guessing the exact moments each scare would occur. Terrible film
the comment below is rediculous
well-crafted, powerful and lifeless. I'm angry that I watched it.
Mesmerizing and full of life. This film gutted me like a plump flounder. Watch it!
add Kick-Ass please :)
degenerate people with mental deficiency? not sure we saw the same film :/
