Teiji ito
Toru Takemitsu
Jerry Goldsmith (The Chinatown soundtrack is a standalone gorgeous work…I haven’t even seen the movie)
Naozumi Yamamoto
Brian Easdale (many of Powell and Pressburger’s soundtracks… The Red Shoes!!)
Miklos Rozsa
Mikis Theodorakis (the “Z” soundtrack is one of the spiciest, bumpingest ones EVER)
Bernard Herrmann
Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra
Ennio Morricone
Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Gohatto/Taboo” soundtrack
Jo Hisaishi’s soundtrack for “Fireworks”
Hi there, I am pretty new to the forums at MUBI. Please pardon me if this kind of thread has been posted before.
So far Mubi (still getting used to the name though…cough…sob) has become pretty much my only favourite online interactive “community” sort of thing as you can learn a lot about films new and old from the site and the variety of members with such ranging exposure to not only movies but literature etc etc etc.
My little suggestion is if possibly Reviews for films could take equal precedence as Wall posts on their pages/user’s streams. Though I do think it is nice to be able to say a quick instinctive ditty on a movie and to have a mini forum.
Hope that made some sense and would be happy to hear what others think.
Thank you for reading!
Camera movement gets so dull and redundant so quickly.
Marinated in this inanely macho stereotypical bad DREARY noir way that you just want to see torn into bits and tossed in lava. alsjlgkdsaklgdjsalkgjdsklagjd. punch in the face.
I wish I could think of more to add to this list but I really do agree with the suggestions of Jackie Chan, Buster Keaton and Werner Herzog…
The only other person I can think of right now is Yukio Mishima for sculpting himself from a frail sickly body to an angelic muscular one, creating his own private army and living (and dying in) his work to the extreme.

Well this is a nice topic.
Jesse, your last photograph of New Hampshire is quite nice. I like the ghost-like feel.
These are some of my drawings:
