Why oh why isn’t Criterion giving this extraordinary picture the ‘red carpet-gold standard’ dvd treatment it so obviously deserves? It would seem logical, considering that De Sica’s other two equally well-known & well-loved masterpieces [i.e. The Bicycle Thief(ves) & Umberto D.] have already become part of the collection. There are so many bad (and I do mean BAD) copies of this film floating about already in Public Domain Limbo. Can’t Criterion champion the remaster & restoration of this cinematic work of art and put it out already? JEEZ LOUISE!!!!!

I’ve seen it.
It sucked.
I will probably see its sequel.
Most likely it will suck as well.
I just have this general tendency to give any & every film a day in court without completely ruling it out of my cinematic acumen.
